Time to be more positive! I just finished a 10+ hour shift and my brain is pretty much not working anymore, and when you're too tired, too drain to think too much, life is much much simpler. It's all about food and warmth and sleep at the moment for me. I've done all my housework yesterday, so today I get to sit back and relax after having a hotpot dinner, made by self and for self only- individual serving! More on that next time, but anyway, parents are coming back after two weeks of absence tomorrow (and probably a couple of days before this entry gets published), so yay, no more housework! It would actually be a lot easier if I was only doing my own part of housework... ironing my brother's long sleeved button up shirts is my nemesis when it comes to housework. In the future I'm going to only buy shirts made with materials that don't require ironing.

Anyhow, before my parents left and when I was still sick at home (yay for day off), they decided to take me to Seven Hills Star Buffet for lunch. Just because we haven't had a daughter-parents meal for quite a long time.

My dad's a member there at the rsl club so he gets a special price. They go there from time to time because out of all the rsl clubs, I think they found 7Hills to be of better standard than most.

Not a big fan of buffet prawns anymore actually, not after my dad's garlic soy steamed prawns which he makes when he gets fresh prawns from the fish market, though the buffet did really good crispy pork belly and char siu.

There's so much variety, I think it's probably the best Star Buffet out of all the chains. We tried the one at Bankstown before as well I think, but that one didn't have the sushi train...

Mum really liked their sushi train and she kept going back for pickled ginger (gari, ack...) and the seaweed.

Huge fan of their dessert though! This berry mousse cake was so good, I think I had three cubes of them.

The chocolate fountain. They had these tiny bread stick-like things, and since there were skewers right next to it, I'm guessing it's for dipping into the fountain. It's just like a mini eclair, but crispy. And small.

Profiteroles! Which... I had to google to find the spelling for. I can never spell it... and can't say it properly either.

Unlimited jasmine green tea and black tea! There's a coffee machine too, but meh, tea! I think I had the most dessert there, but I did like their Chinese "siu mei". It was a nice meal with my parents too, though they keep mentioning how they're going to get all these wonderful meals in Beijing and Hong Kong... just to rub it in that I'll be stuck in Australia cooking my own pathetic meals after work.
I jest. It was a good catch up with parents, doesn't happen very often these days anymore... guess something good got out of being sick. Technically I should have been staying home recovering, but hey, everyone's gotta eat lunch even when sick, why not a buffet right? :D
